Yikes! I’m getting older

Up! Can’t sleep, hot, I’m in my 40s; you do the math. Lol! As I lie here at 4:17 a.m. looking at the ceiling with a stopped up nose from allergies thinking about my life and another birthday that just passed, it dawns on me that I’m aging. Yikes! Oh I know, that’s probably melodramatic. I just did it for the effect because I’m so over the apprehension phase about getting older. It’s overrated, but real nevertheless. Actually, I’m aging well in so many ways. Mentally, I’m looking back in the rear view mirror less and walking gracefully in the present eager to see what unfolds. I’m bolder and exploring things that I probably wouldn’t have. For instance, rock climbing; a sport I tried recently. I had been looking at the indoor rock for some time as I passed it to go upstairs to workout. I kept admiring the people including children who climbed it. But, fear set in each time and paralyzed me, so I minded my own business. You see, I’m generally a “safe risk taker” which sometimes keeps me from challenging myself.

But one day courage and fear had a battle and fear was taken down! I climbed the rock not once but twice. Now when I pass it, I roar! The moral of this story is without fear courage does not exist. XOXO – Chante
